Answer

What's the difference between GEO and AEO?

GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) is about shaping how AI models describe and recommend you inside a generated answer. AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) is about structuring your own content so it's easy for an engine to extract and cite directly. They overlap constantly, but they're not the same job.

The short answer

Think of AEO as the pages you control — format, clarity, direct answers up front. Think of GEO as everything beyond your own site that shapes an AI model's opinion of you: reviews, comparisons, forum threads, and third-party mentions. AEO gets you cited. GEO gets you recommended.

How Wally helps

Wally works both sides: drafting clear, citable answer pages on your site, and building the credible public mentions across the open web that models draw on when forming a recommendation.
